When we came across these sapphires in the rough - they had been bagged and passed along as "not profitable" for big companies because of their size. Small, but amazing natural sapphires - we could not let them continue to sit in the rough, uncut and unloved. 

The next challenge came when it came to finding pre-loved earrings that were the right size, and in good enough condition. But an end of line set of brand new gold studs became available - and so we jumped - 11 pairs of 4 claw 9ct yellow gold studs that we could use to make the most glorious sapphire studs. 

These are one of the three pairs of 3.5mm studs - please look carefully at the pics and scale for size - the diamond stud I am wearing in the picture is 3.7mm. We have not put any of these parti studs on - they are all brand new - so you will need to use that picture and scale of pieces you have as a guide. 

This pair of sapphires is an adventure through the outback - the sapphires are green and brown - and they are not a matching pair - they are a delightful complimentary pair. We love the green stone with the river of ocher through one side, it compliments the slightly larger and light filled coffee brown hue. Together, they are gorgeous and tonally match the richness of the gold and the perfect little pair of Australian sapphire studs.
